Very nice.

Out of curiosity, ever thought of doing one in a steampunk motif?

Early, while in second year at Langara College, Patrick Taddy came and did a slide presentation and I loved his mechanical pieces, ([link]). I don't know... so I went through a bit of a stage of early industrial but in the end things just started to smooth out, and become smoother and simplier. And like Pat's work, it's in the details. But now that you mention it... Hmmm...

how on earth did you do that?

Hi Meghan.
Bowls! I throw a lot of bowl shapes. Then they get cut up and re-assembled to make new forms. The rest of the parts - handles, spouts, lids - are either extruded, thrown, and/or handbuilt. With clay, the possibilities are endless. And it looks like you have a great teacher.

That's amazing. I've been looking to try something new in ceramics for a while, do you mind if I borrow your idea and try to make an industrial something of my own? What kind of glaze did you use on this?

This glaze is "Berry Rust", you can find recipes all over the internet. WARNING!!! Alway test your glazes! My version of Berry Rust worked well in Vancouver, BC but was crap in Calgary, AB. Different water maybe.
Again, ALWAYS TEST!!!

Oh, definitely. I'll definitely test out the recipes on tiles or something first. Was it high-fire? I work mainly with cone 10+
